Are you ready to make a difference?

Volunteer At The Santiam Teen Center

We’ve got several ways that you can serve!

Ways to Get Involved

Become a Teen Center Volunteer!

We are looking for safe, healthy adults to hang out with our local youth. All volunteers are required to pass a multi-state background check and complete an online training course prior to serving with our youth. No special skills required.

You can make a difference in the life of a teen just by showing up! Volunteers can serve as little as one day per month or as often as they like. We send out a monthly sign-up calendar, so you can volunteer on the days that are most conducive to your schedule.

Share a Special Skill or Talent!

We are looking to connect local residents and businesses into the fabric of learning at the Santiam Teen Center by offering a variety of opportunities for students to learn new skills.

Do you know how to create a great resume? Does your business offer a class on money management? Do you have culinary skills and the willingness to share those with kids who don’t? Are you willing to show kids how to change a flat tire, or the oil in a car? Are you a mental health professional that can share tips and tricks for dealing with stress & anxiety? Perhaps you’re a make-up artist or photographer willing to teach a class. Whatever your passion, we want to partner with you to enhance students lives. Contact Katrina for more information.

Serve on our Board of Directors!

We are always looking for servant leaders that are invested in sustaining our commitment to teens and our community!

Board members should have an abiding relationship in Jesus Christ which is evidenced in their daily living. We are looking for individuals who share our core values of Hope, Service and Growth. Board members carry the fiduciary responsibility to the organization, and are asked to commit to serving a three year term.

Do you have skills or experience related to non-profits, budgeting, fund-raising, grant writing, sales & marketing, crisis/trauma or youth services? Do you have a passion for helping youth succeed?

Charity Walters - STC

Volunteer Spotlight: Charity Walters

This month we would like to highlight Charity Walters as one of our great volunteers here at the Santiam Teen Center. Charity has been volunteering with the Teen Center for just over two years. She started as soon as she could, right after she turned eighteen. STC was highlighted at her church, Foothills, and she immediately knew she wanted to be a part of the Santiam Teen Center organization.

In the past couple years, she has had the opportunity to interact with many kids, from all different backgrounds. There’s even a few teens that started coming the same week she started volunteering, and are still at the teen center to this day!

“I love getting to connect with these kids, and see them grow. Seeing them open up to the volunteers, and the other teens, always warms my heart. It’s a joy to me that the teen center is somewhere they’re comfortable to be themselves. I hope that the teen center continues to be a place where kids can feel safe and supported. Somewhere that reflects God’s unconditional love. With Hannah stepping into a greater role for program coordination, and our new director Steve jumping in with both feet, I can’t wait to see what this next year holds.” -Charity.

Thank you Charity for all that you do for the teens here at STC!

STC could not continue doing what we do without the support that we receive from our entire community.
Do you have a desire to serve? We are currently looking to increase our volunteer staff.

We welcome you to schedule a tour of the teen center and see how you can get involved.
